A garbage truck near Sunol caused a disruption on I-680 when it overturned, blocking the highway. The California Highway Patrol reported that the incident took place on Wednesday morning on the northbound side of I-680, just north of the scales, around 9:30 a.m.
Aerial footage revealed the overturned garbage truck lying on its side, with debris scattered around. Initially, only one lane remained open for traffic while the rest were obstructed. However, by 2 p.m., all lanes had been reopened, according to the highway patrol.
To address the aftermath of the accident, Caltrans requested a Bobcat to arrive at the scene and commence cleanup operations at approximately 10:30 a.m.
