A man was apprehended after a police chase culminated in a frontal crash with a UPS truck on Saturday morning.
The incident occurred at around 9:30 a.m. when a Garfield Heights Police officer attempted to pull over a vehicle for a traffic infraction on Warner Road near Garfield Boulevard, as per a statement from the Garfield Heights Police Department.
The chase, which commenced in Garfield Heights and ended in Cleveland, concluded when the suspect’s vehicle struck a UPS delivery truck head-on at the intersection of Warner Road and Bancroft Avenue.
After the collision, the driver fled on foot but was apprehended by police officers nearby, the statement revealed.
The detainee, a 19-year-old man, was taken to Metro Health Medical Center to treat minor injuries, according to the police statement.
The UPS driver escaped the incident without injuries, the statement confirmed.
