Witness Claims FedEx Truck Veers Off Anderson County Road, Resulting in Tragic Death of Pony

A heart-wrenching incident unfolded on Thursday on an Upstate road, resulting in the unfortunate demise of a pony, as reported by a nearby property owner.

According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol website, the crash occurred shortly after 2 p.m. at the intersection of Good Hope Church Road and Gentry Road, near Starr in Anderson County.

The property owner recounted that the FedEx truck crashed through a fence, tragically striking the pony, inflicting such severe injuries that the animal had to be euthanized.

The driver of the FedEx truck informed WYFF News 4 that he lost control of his vehicle as his iPad fell, prompting him to momentarily divert his attention from the road to retrieve it. As a result, the truck veered off the road and entered the field where the tragic collision took place.

Another FedEx truck arrived at the scene to assist with the necessary cleanup operations.

At present, the South Carolina Highway Patrol has not released further details regarding the crash, leaving the community awaiting additional information on this distressing incident.
