In a devastating turn of events, a man has lost his life after experiencing a “medical incident” at a landfill site in Teesside.

The North East Ambulance Service received a distress call on Monday at approximately 1:24 p.m., alerting them to the situation at Augean’s Port Clarence Waste Recovery Park in Middlesbrough. It was reported that a man in his 60s had fallen ill while carrying out a delivery at the site.

Emergency medical assistance swiftly arrived at the scene, with two ambulances and a clinical team leader present to provide care to the patient. However, despite their efforts, the man was tragically pronounced deceased a short time later.

Cleveland Police have stated that the man’s death is not being treated as suspicious, and preparations are underway to compile a file for the coroner.
