Fatal Crash Involving Amazon Truck on Interstate Causes Lane Closures in Mount Juliet

Tragedy struck in Wilson County as a Nashville man lost his life in a devastating interstate crash that resulted in the closure of multiple lanes throughout the night.

According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP), an Amazon tractor-trailer had pulled over to the right shoulder of I-40 West due to mechanical problems. The driver activated the hazard lights and exited the cab to assess the situation. Unfortunately, at around 10:15 p.m. on Monday, a Chevrolet Silverado collided forcefully with the rear of the trailer. The impact caused the Silverado to roll approximately 50 feet before coming to a stop on the grassy shoulder.

The driver of the Silverado, identified as 43-year-old Jared Crumby from Nashville, tragically succumbed to the crash. Thankfully, there were no other reported injuries.

Throughout the night, the westbound lanes near the Mount Juliet Road exit ramp on I-40 remained closed as the scene was examined by fatal crash detectives and crews worked diligently to clear the wreckage.
