Fatal Single-Vehicle Crash Claims Life of FedEx Truck Driver

The Charleston Police Department is currently investigating a tragic single-vehicle crash that resulted in the death of a FedEx truck driver on Friday. The incident occurred at approximately 10:35 a.m. on Henry Tecklenburg Drive, located in the West Ashley area.

According to Sgt. Elisabeth Wolfsen, the truck was traveling on the road when it crossed the center line, veered off the left side of the road, and collided with a tree.

Tragically, the driver of the truck was pronounced dead at the scene. The Charleston County Coroner’s Office has yet to release the victim’s identity.

For several hours, Henry Tecklenburg Drive was closed between Magwood Drive and Watchtower Lane as the police meticulously examined the crash site. The road was later reopened in the afternoon.
